The Sanrio Character Ranking is an annual popularity vote held for Sanrio characters! This year, the final results were announced at a fan event at the end of June... and the previous year's champion, Pompompurin, successfully defended his 1st place spot! Huge congratulations~!

This year marks Pompompurin's 30th anniversary year! Boosting his rank with passionate cheers from fans, he gathered over 7 million votes to win 1st place for the second consecutive year and the fifth time overall! With Cinnamoroll in 2nd place and Pochacco in 3rd, Sanrio's 'Big Three Dog Characters' completely dominated the top three spots, prompting fans to cheer, 'It's full of puppies and it's the best!'

The character within the top 10 who saw a massive surge in votes compared to last year is Ahiru no Pekkle, jumping from 10th place up to 6th! I predict he might even break into the top 5 next year, and following these character ranking results, I think he'll be a character getting tons of new merchandise throughout 2026! Since he is also active in the unit 'Hapidanbui' alongside Pochacco, next year is sure to be another year of great leaps forward for him!
