MAMESHIBA is a character created by Kim Sukwon-Sensei, a Korean living in Japan, who is active globally.

Its popularity soared around 2008 when commercials started airing, especially among students.
When you drop a bean (usually during a meal), MAMESHIBA suddenly appears and asks 'Do you know?' and shares a piece of trivia without being asked. It's quite a mysterious character.

By the way, the trivia it tells you is often 'hard to call good taste' (why would it say such a thing at this moment?).

According to the character introduction, it looks like a dog or a bean at first glance, but it's neither a dog nor a bean.
This can be a bit confusing because there's a breed of dog also called Mame Shiba, which is a smaller-sized Shiba Inu, similar to a bean.
