Kapibara-san is, as the title suggests, a loose and cute character work based on the capybara, created by BANPRESTO.

Originally it was made into merchandise as one of the crane game prizes in 2003, and after that, the character exploded in popularity. Due to a lot of requests for goods other than crane games, it started as a solid work.

As the title of the work suggests, many characters based on real capybaras appear. It depicts the relaxed daily life of wild capybaras living in a meadow called 'Midorino Grassland'. All the characters that appear love hot springs. They are generally laid-back, but when necessary, they can run away at speeds of over 50 km/h.
