Shigotoneko is a character based on a cat, created by the illustrator Kumamine-Sensei.

The origin of its creation was from an internet meme called Genbaneko, which became popular around 2018. This 'Genbaneko' typically depicts a cat wearing a construction helmet, saying 'Yoshi!' and pointing, as its basic form.
The circumstances of its birth are somewhat complex, but in essence, while Genbaneko somewhat existed as a vague concept, Kumamine-Sensei established it as a distinct character called Shigotoneko. (The original creator of Genbaneko also acknowledges this.)

Shigotoneko often has a gray body, equipped with a helmet, and is frequently seen wearing uniforms suitable for the work setting.
While it takes on tasks with pointed checks and pre-inspections, due to its own or its colleagues' negligence, it occasionally causes minor troubles.
