The themes this time are the New Year’s lucky charms, Akabeko and Inu-hariko! Akabeko is a folk art papier-mâché cow that celebrates the birth of a child; it wears red for protection against evil and features Japanese family crests like the Igeta (well-frame) on its back and Tomoe (comma-shape) on its belly! Its neck can bobble, and that slightly humorous appearance is just so cute!

And Inu-hariko is a puppy-shaped papier-mâché doll that has long been loved as a charm for children, easy childbirth, and warding off evil! Their round appearance is so adorable! These cats are dressed up as these two lucky charms, and it’s simply delightful!

Although they are pretending to be dog and tiger ornaments, their tails are definitely cat-style. Everyone, please be sure to check out these cute mofusand x Engi-nyan Mascots!
