Hello everyone! I don’t really get many chances to go to art museums! I’m Saori from Kawaii Republic!

But even someone like me knows the name of this museum! That’s how famous it is! And they collaborated with those adorable characters—Sumikko Gurashi—for real!?

When we talk about the Metropolitan Museum of Art, we’re talking about one of the three great museums of the world—an incredibly famous American museum! It’s highly acclaimed worldwide for the vast number of works it holds, their historical significance, and its international reputation...... and guess what? That very Met actually collaborated with Sumikko Gurashi!

In Tokyo, there was an event called the Met Exhibition, where you could experience what the Metropolitan Museum is like and see what kinds of pieces they have—without even going abroad! As part of it, goods were released featuring Sumikko Gurashi characters wearing outfits inspired by actual masterpieces on display at the Met! I feel like I kind of recognize some of the original works these outfits are based on, too!
