Kuri-Manju is a mysterious side character that appears in Chiikawa: Nanka Chiisakute Kawaii Yatsu. Its appearance looks like a mix of a Japanese confection called “chestnut bun” and an animal called “honey badger.”

Its appearance is (if it stays silent) cute, but it acts like a middle-aged Japanese man who loves alcohol, often depicted in the manga version drinking alcohol and eating snacks or something delicious. Unlike Hachiware, who speaks clearly, it often exhales a spirited “Haah!” when it consumes delicious alcohol or food.

It's a little intimidating, but it has a kind side, surprisingly taking good care of the other characters, such as dining with Chiikawa and treating them to coffee. In the anime version, since it airs in the morning when small children also watch, scenes of drinking alcohol are secretly changed to non-alcoholic beverages or tea.
